The evening continued to whirl by in an endless blur of spinners, cards, dice, and glamor. Jadeite had stopped trying to keep track of how many times he had multiplied his winnings. He allowed himself to start to hope that they might, just might, end up with enough money to pay off their obligations. Of course, his included paying for two damaged jets and three city buses that were somewhat the worse for the wear from their interdimensional route, but after he paid Nephrite back - Nephrite had called the seed money a gift but Jadeite preferred to think of it as a loan, and anyway, Nephrite was going to have to pay some reparations of his own - and after Zoisite paid off his own debts, he was sure that Zoisite's extra along with his own money would be enough.
How much did jetliners cost, anyway?
The problem was, he was going to have to convince Zoisite to share, which might not be that easy. Though any leftover money that Zoisite had would go to Kunzite first, so it was Kunzite he would have to convince. Had any of the others been responsible for damages to any large passenger conveyances?
And then there was the matter of Thetis laughing at him when he asked her if forigiving him was part of her plans.
Jadeite sighed, reminding himself not to get complacent yet, and placed his next bet on the spinning of the roulette wheel.
