Chapter 6 - Training

Quick Notes: I’m dedicating this chapter to my friend Victoria Violet. She has helped to get more back into writing the rest of this novel. I was having difficulty in getting a writing mood to finish this book. I don’t get me wrong I’m still interested in finishing it since I have a third book to do after this one. It took me less than a week to complete this chapter. That’s a record for me lately.

Jenna sat on her bed, frustrated. She wanted out of the room but there was no way out. And to make matters worse, she hadn’t seen anyone since Rubeus left her. The youma Jersa sat beside her. She was troubled as well. Jersa understood what Jenna was going through but was scared that Jenna would become a Negaverse minion.

“I haven’t had any luck yet in finding out if her majesty had any affect on you,” Jersa said, trying to strike up a conversation.

“I know and I don’t expect you to either,” Jenna said. “I want to get out of here.”

“There is only one way to leave this room.”

“How is that?”

“By being evil. Only then will the door open and even then it’s not a door, just a portal.”

“But I already told you that I don’t want that.”

“I know and I may have come up with a plan that will make everyone think you’re evil.”

“How?”

“Even though you aren’t evil, act like you are. Only your minions will know otherwise.”

“And who would they be?”

“Myself and...” Jersa swung her hand and suddenly youma started to appear. “These youma would like to escape from the powers of the Negaverse. They all were human once. Meet Flina, Benaka, Lurine, Franette, Trinast, Wernine, Astral, Zini, Flopine and finally Ghostal.”

All ten female youma had human like features but had the looks like animals except of Ghostal. She had a ghostly appearance.

“We will...” Flina said who had the look of a leopard. “All work for you and play along as you being evil. This is the only way to trick the queen and get back to the real world.”

“You have to make the Negaverse believe you are evil in order to leave this room,” Ghostal said.

“Had do I do that?” Jenna asked. “And why do you look like a ghost?”

“So I can get to places without being detected,” Ghostal answered.

“By concentrating on evil thoughts. Once you’ve accomplished that, a portal will open,” said Zini, who looked like a Zebra.

“May I ask one question?” Jenna asked. “Why do you all look like animals?”

“It was the way Beryl made us so we couldn’t return to the real world and people would run from us when we would try to get help,” said Wernine, who had a gray and while wolf look.

“I don’t like this idea but I do want to get out of here and for some reason, I trust you guys,” Jenna said. She thought for a moment then came up with an idea. “Ghostal, any way you could be my eyes and ears in the real world?”

“What would you like me to keep an eye on?” she asked.

“Molly. I would like to know how she is doing.”

“I can do that,” she said as she started to fade away.

Early the next morning, Neflite and both women were in the backyard, ready for training. Neflite wanted to train the women the day before but after Molly being healed, ended that idea. Neflite felt so relieved that Molly now knew how to heal.

“The reason you two need training to retrieve your transformation pens,” Neflite said. “Is because, you were originally older, it makes that harder for you.”

“I am confused on that,” Rita said.

“You two were killed before the transformation pens were created,” Neflite said. “Therefore, your powers were from your minds. You now need to tap into the mind to retrieve the forgotten powers.”

“Just like what I did yesterday,” Molly said.

“Exactly.”

“What happened yesterday?” Rita asked.

“I was able to heal my broken heart from losing my baby.”

“To make things a little more interesting I have asked Alan and Anne to help.”

The two aliens suddenly started to walk towards them. They were standing over by the house, waiting for Neflite to tell the women that they were helping.

“Why are they going to help?” Rita asked.

“I figure today’s training will be about dodging some minor attacks. Dodging attacks is very essential.”

“Why do I get the feeling that I won’t like this,” Rita grumbled. “I should be with my kids.”

“Rita,” Molly said. “You are starting to feel the powers of being Sailor Sun. And we need to be ready in case Queen Beryl was to attack us. Besides, what if she decided to go after you like she did me. Knowing how to protect yourself will help.”

“Molly has a point,” Alan agreed. “Queen Beryl is very unpredictable when it comes to attacking people other than the scouts.”

“I know,” Rita said. “But I don’t have to like it.”

“Now where did I hear that before?” Neflite asked himself.

“Probably the day you were trained to be a general,” Zoisite said as he walked into the yard. “I came by to see if you needed any help.”

“I don’t think I will,” Neflite said. “Alan and Anne are going to help.”

“Ok. If you need me just call.” Zoisite disappeared in a swirl of cherry blossoms.

“Now are you ladies ready?” Neflite asked.

The two women nodded.

“Good. Alan you will help Molly and Anne take Rita. Be sure your powers are very weak and don’t hurt them. Alan you start with Molly for about ten minutes and then Anne and Rita.” The two aliens nodded and the training began.

Alan got ready to fire an energy ball. He brought it out in his hands and then stared at it, allowing it to lose its strength. When it was weak enough that Alan could barely feel it, he got ready to fire it at Molly.

“This first one is going to be a starter. You will see it coming but after that, the shots will come unexpectedly.”

“I’m ready,” she said.

Alan threw the ball towards Molly. Molly quickly dodged by jumping to the left. But just as she got to her feet, another one came towards her. She barely had enough time before another one came at her and then another. After about five times of barely dodging, Molly started to get the hang of it.

When Alan threw the sixth one, she decided to try something different. She jumped to the left and quickly swung her leg, which kicked it and it was thrown back at Alan. Alan barely had enough time to dodge it.

“Very good,” Alan said. “Had did you figure to kick it?”

“I remember,” Molly said. “Seeing Lita do this once.”

“You ready to start again?”

“Fire away,” Molly said enthusiastically.

Alan prepared another energy ball and threw it at Molly. This time Molly jumped in the air. While she was in the air, she saw another one coming. She jumped to the right, landing on her feet dodging the next one. She barely had her balance when another came towards her. This time she ducked to the ground, lying flat, allowing the ball to fly right past her and then rolled out of the way as another came towards her.

Another few minutes went by when Neflite called it quits for the two of them. Molly was grateful as she was starting to get tired.

“All right, Rita and Anne your turn,” Neflite said.

For close to ten minutes Anne and Rita did the same thing. Anne threw energy balls and Rita dodged. A few times Rita almost was hit but she quickly regained the control and once she was able to throw the attack back at Anne by kicking out the same way Molly did. Rita had watched Molly closely as she was dodging her attacks.

After Rita and Anne were done. Neflite told the women to have a small break then they were going to continue. When the girls started again, they were now going to start dodging attacks from both aliens at the same time.

Mina and Serena were at the temple talking with Raye’s mother, just getting to know the woman. Raye in the meantime helped her grandfather with sweeping.

“Ms. Hino,” Mina said.

“Please, call me Kristi.”

“Kristi. I was wondering if you knew anything about our father.”

“Yes, I know a bit on your father. But I’m not sure if it would be wise to speak to you about without Luna and Artemis’s knowledge. They seemed pretty scared when they interrupted me when I was talking about your history.”

“Yeah they were,” Serena agreed. “They are at Neflite’s right now I can call and ask my mother if she could ask them.”

“That would probably be the best bet,” Kristi said. “I don’t want to do anything that will upset the balance of time.”

Serena nodded and then left to phone her mother.

“Tell me Mina, how did you guys meet back up with the generals?”

“They had followed us and Malachite saved me from Tellulu. From there are adventure started with them.”

“Yeah my father tells me that he was not impressed when he found out Raye had everyone here. But now he knows why.”

“Yeah. That was pretty scary when they captured Grandpa and tried to make him bring out his evil side, which is a shadow warrior.”

“I can’t believe a shadow warrior is my father. I thought they were wiped out. Who else hosts a warrior?”

“Peggy Jones the artist, Rita, Greg, a priest, a fat cat, Grandpa, of course, and Game Machine Joe. Well that is his nickname. He has an extraordinary power that allows him to levitate objects and he uses that to win stuffed animals in machines for the needy kids.”

“That’s cheating but effective to help children.”

“Yeah and they like it. We’ve even help Joe out once in awhile.”

“As the scouts or regular selves?”

“Both.”

The two generals Mongo found, Zincite and Columbite were waiting in front of their queen with three other generals in which Rubeus found. The five new generals were waiting to hear their orders from her majesty.

“Your majesty,” Rubeus said. He was still fuming over what he found in Mina’s apartment. “Here are the remaining generals of the Negaverse.”

“Finally,” she said. “They should have been found a week ago.”

“I apologize my queen,” one of the new ones said. “My other two companions were in the middle of breaking free from our confides.”

“What are your names?” she demanded.

“Zincite.” He was a petite man with long red hair in a ponytail.

“Columbite.” He had short black hair and clearly the tallest.

“Vivianite.” She had long green hair and was only female.

“Granite.” He had short blue hair and seemed to not care to be in front of his queen.

“Tincal.” He was not much shorter than Columbite and also had short black hair.

“Are there any more?” Beryl asked.

“None that have been freed from being trapped in eternal sleep after Sailor Moon defeated you,” Granite said.

“I don’t need to be reminded of that,” she hissed. “Now listen carefully. Your mission is to distract the Sailor Scouts in any way possible. The only ones you are not to harm is Sailor Venus, Jupiter and finally Sailor Moon.”

“Your majesty,” Vivianite spoke. “Why are we not to harm them?”

“There are other plans for those three. Now get prepared, we will be attacking soon, the sooner the better. The scouts are vulnerable.”

They all bowed slightly and said at once. “Yes your majesty.”

Serena returned from speaking to her mother with a smile. “Luna said that it was ok to tell us about our father.”

“Alright,” Mina cheered.

“Hearing about your father is not all glamorous,” Kristi said. “He was killed at the hands of Queen Serenity.”

“How could she do that?” Serena asked. “She was a kind and gentle ruler.”

“Yeah,” Mina agreed. “She would never harm anyone unless they were enemies.”

“They were.” Both girls gasped. “Not long after you two were both born, she had learned that your father was actually working for an evil force. It is not said what that evil force was.

“Queen Serenity had no choice but to destroy her husband. Not long after that, she trusted no man. Your father was after the throne. Back then, talking about your father was a forbidden subject but now it’s not.”

“How did she find out about father?” Mina asked.

“Luna and Artemis had overheard him one day speaking to someone about overthrowing the kingdom.”

“They then told my mother and she took action,” Serena finished.

“That is right. Queen Serenity and the other planet Queens were the only ones who knew your father’s true disappearance. Not even Luna and Artemis knew. Serenity didn’t want them to know. She was afraid that if it leaked out no one would trust her again.”

Mina and Serena looked at each other with amazement. They had just heard that their father only married their mothers to overthrow the universe. In the back of Serena’s mind, she was glad that she never knew her father.

After two hours of training, Molly and Rita collapsed ground in exhaustion. They couldn’t believe that the scouts had to dodge powers like what Alan and Anne were throwing. The two aliens threw attacks that looked powerful but were no harmful then to a small child.

“Can we rest for a while?” Molly asked.

“I suppose we can take a break,” Anne said. “Though you only started, you have done well.”

“I agree,” Neflite said. “Maybe later today we’ll continue. The Amazon Quartet have the pool set up right now for you two so you can get your strength and energy back.”

The two women stood from the ground and went towards the pool. As Neflite watched them leave he spoke to his alien friends. “Amazing. We use to take energy and now we are sending them to get energy.”

“That is strange,” Alan said. “And now we are here helping the scouts fight evil.”

“Hopefully Beryl won’t be expecting you coming. Just like when the Starlights arrived. That was something to see,” Neflite said. “Only the Amazon Quartet, Greg and the Trio knew.”

“I would have like to have seen that,” Anne said. “Queen Beryl corrupted our people into destroying themselves and now we’re the only ones left.”

“There is still one more and that is an old friend of Darien’s when he was a child. Fiore.”

“I would like to meet him but I don’t think there will ever be a chance. He had given a flower to Tuxedo Mask to save Sailor Moon’s life.”

“I’m sure he still lives though, Alan,” Anne said. “We are not destructible.”

“I’m going to go and see Molly.” Neflite walked away, heading towards the pool where he could see his wife slowly getting in. He could faintly see the pool glow giving the women renewed energy.

As he started to approach, he turned getting a weird feeling that he was being watched. He looked around for a few seconds but then continued.

Over beside one tree, Ghostal stood watching. She had been watching for quite sometime at the ex-general. When she suddenly seen him turned, she thought maybe she was wrong and that she could be caught but when he turned back she felt relieved.

Though she was a youma, she still had a human heart. And he would have only felt like a ghost not a youma was watching him. Ghostal quickly vanished to report back to her master.

When she appeared, Jenna jumped.

“You scared me,” Jenna said.

“Sorry. I have some information on your daughter and husband. She is being trained for something along with another friend. There were two aliens helping.”

“We need to do everything in our power,” Trinast said. She looked like a tiger. “To make sure Queen Beryl doesn’t hear about this. I have the feeling those two aliens might be another surprise attack for Queen Beryl.”

“Beryl won’t like it, if we keep something like that from her,” Benaka said who looked like a fox.

“We have no choice,” said Flopine who had a bird like look with the colors of purple, blue and green. “In order to protect Jenna and get out of here, we need to indirectly help the Sailor Scouts.”

Franette who also looked a like bird but had the features like an eagle, placed her hand on Jenna. “We all agreed to be Jenna’s minions so we could help her to escape. And if we are killed by her majesty at least we died trying to do something right.”

“I agree,” Jersa said. “Time to stop living in fear of the queen. I don’t even think she knows we are all still alive. We have been able to live in the real world since the Negaverse was sealed in eternal sleep.”

“How can you guys live in the real world if you already told me that she made you the way you are to keep you from Earth?” Jenna asked.

“Queen Beryl never knew but she gave us a power. We can turn into animals. Being an animal is what has kept us alive for the past four years. But when the Negaverse was released, we were forced to return.”

Jenna looked at her ten youma. She smiled as she was going to be able to get help even if they knew the risks. They wanted out just as much as she and were willing to sacrifice their lives to save hers. She vowed that if she were able to get out, she would help the youma to start new lives.
