Chapter 5 - The Power to Heal

* * * * * * * *

Serena sat quietly beside Darien for what seemed like hours. Zoisite and Amy sat opposite of the prince and princess in another sofa. Amy and Zoisite were quietly talking about Molly's situation and how Mina was being affected by the ordeal. For Zoisite, he didn't know what to do. He was never placed into a corner trying to play the healer.

Amy looked at her leader and saw the look of pure confusion. She knew that Serena was fighting a battle, a battle that could change her look on life. Serena's emotions were turned upside down into turmoil. The whole outcome of the situation was based on Serena's decision. It would help her if she could forget for a moment that she was Sailor Moon, the leader of the whole group.

The doorbell ringing brought Serena out of her gloominess. Serena raised her head as Zoisite got up and went to the door.

When Zoisite was in the foyer, he opened the door. "Hello," he said.

"Hello. My name is Kim and I was invited by a friend, Darien to come over."

Zoisite silently ushered the woman into the house and escorted her to the living room. Serena looked up the guest and remembered her from the hospital.

"I hope I'm not interrupting," Kim said.

"No," Amy answered. "Darien invited you and so you are welcomed. I'm Amy and this is my friend Serena and Zoisite."

"Nice to meet you," Kim said.

"Who was at the door?" Neflite asked a little too roughly. He had heard the doorbell and went to see who it was.

"Kim," Kim replied. "You must be Neflite. I met your wife at the hospital and was offered to come over to give my regards. I understand the situation you're in."

"How can you," he said coldly. He looked and noticed that she was pregnant. "You have a child growing inside of you."

"Neflite!" Serena snapped. "Give her a chance. She is the one who the Starlights saved at the restaurant from her abusive husband."

Neflite looked at the woman again and his face softened. "I'm sorry," he apologized. "I'm not myself."

"I understand," Kim said. "Last year, my sister had a miscarriage and I helped her through it. She didn't fall or anything but she was under a lot of stress. And stress isn't good for any baby. I could have lost mine but thanks to your wonderful friends, my baby will have a chance to live and I can start over."

"I heard you went up to her and offered your kind words," Neflite said.

"When my soon to be ex-husband made that terrible scene, I couldn't believe total strangers would help someone they didn't even know. I've never had any friends who would help stick up for me as your friends did."

Serena softly smiled at the woman's statement. Kim was saying the same thing Serena had been trying to say to Neflite but in a different way. The way Neflite was feeling, talking to him was very difficult. Serena had to speak to him as if she never fought him before, which was hard for her to do.

"You're words speak the truth," Neflite declared. "I have to be strong for Molly."

Serena and Zoisite looked at Neflite with surprise registering on their faces Neflite was actually taking the woman's words to heart.

"I would like to stay longer and visit but I should be with Molly. Please stay and make yourself comfortable. Serena and the others can show you around." Neflite turned and went back up the stairs.

"Did I just hear him right," Zoisite said pointing in the direction where Neflite was standing. "Did he just apologize and then take some advice?"

"That's exactly what you heard," Amy smiled at Zoisite's baffled look. Zoisite turned to his girlfriend as her smile brightened more. "Lets go and see the others. Would you like to come, Kim?"

"Sure," Kim agreed.

* * * * * * * *

Molly was lying in bed when Neflite walked into their room. She looked at her husband. "Who was at the door?"

"The woman you met at the hospital," Neflite answered. "Love, as much as this is hurting both of us, we have to be strong."

"Be strong?" Molly questioned. "How can I be strong when I just lost my baby?"

"I know. I loved that child just as much as you did. But the Negaverse wants us to fight. They are trying to break up the team. We can't let them win."

"I know!" Molly screamed. Neflite walked over to Molly and pulled her close. It was the first time she yelled at him but he couldn't blame her. The whole time she was unconscious, Neflite was able to let his feelings out and it was Serena who comforted him.

"But how can we move on?" she asked crying softly.

"I don't know. But we have to. I have been going over that fight. They didn't put up much of a fight. I think it's time for the girls to have a change; they are starting to get too predictable. Queen Beryl is studying their moves."

"I'm sorry," Molly said.

"For what?"

"For yelling at you."

"You don't need to apologize. You are upset, probably more than me. You let me be the strength for both of us." Neflite lifted Molly's chin to look her in the eyes. "I love you more than anything. I will not let them hurt us again."

Molly's eyes glittered with hope to his words. She closed her eyes as Neflite lowered his head and kissed her. Even though she was in so much pain, she poured her heart out in the kiss.

* * * * * * * *

A week had gone by since Molly's miscarriage and Mina was in her apartment cleaning before Malachite got home. He had gone over to Neflite's for a short visit to see how Molly was doing. They both thought it was best for the two of them to give the grieving couple some space. Besides they knew Serena wouldn't leave Molly or Neflite alone.

Right before bed was Mina's favorite time to do dishes. As she began the dishes, someone buzzed her doorbell. She wiped her hands before seeing who was at the door. To her surprise it was the young man who met her in the hallway at the hospital.

"How did you find where I live?" Mina asked.

"You dropped your wallet at the hospital and your drivers license was in it." He handed her the wallet. What she didn't know was Mongo had teleported her wallet.

She offered the man in as she put the wallet away. "Thank you. I didn't even know it was missing,"

"How are you doing today?" he asked her.

"Better," she answered. "Even my friend is doing a little better. Would you like a drink since I'm going to pour myself a drink?"

"No thank you," he said.

Mina went to the fridge and got out a jug of water. Mongo glared at the blond woman as her back was turned. This is so stupid being nice to her! I think I'm going to gag. But as Sapphire said they all would love to get a chance to spy on the scouts.

Mina closed her eyes to send a telepathic message to Malachite as she poured her drink. *Don't teleport back in. There's company here and it isn't my mother* Mina turned back, sitting down at the table. "I'm sorry. But with what happened already I can't remember your name."

Stupid. He thought. It took him a few seconds to remember what he called himself to her. "Michael."

"Hon, I'm home," Malachite said as he walked in the apartment. He had caught Mina's message just before he teleported. If a stranger had seen him teleport, the Sailor Scouts would be discovered.

Mongo turned at the man and instantly wanted to kill him but refrained from doing it.

Malachite walked up to Mina and kissed her cheek. "Who do we have here?"

"Michael. I bumped into him last week when Molly was in the hospital," Mina said.

"Well Michael, I'm Malachite," he introduced himself.

"Nice to meet you," Mongo said. Not. "I came to give Mina her wallet. She left it at the hospital. Well, I should go." Mongo stood and left the apartment fairly quickly.

When he got out of the apartment, he teleported back to the Negaverse. He quickly went to the training area to cool off. "Can someone tell me again why I'm doing this!?" he yelled.

"You are doing this because; one, you are the only who hasn't gone up against the scouts," Rubeus said appearing beside the young warrior. "And two, because her majesty ordered you to."

"I have to be nice to her," Mongo growled.

"Look," Rubeus said sternly. "It's your mission. I watched from here and trust me when I say, when that traitor walked in and kissed her, I felt like teleporting there and giving him a lesson he won't forget."

"You want her, don't you?" Mongo taunted.

"I want her beside me, in my bed. Once Queen Beryl takes control I will take Venus's throne and become king with her as my queen. Just do your job." Rubeus vanished from the room.

* * * * * * * *

Meanwhile back in Mina's apartment, the two blondes were a little puzzled why Michael left so abruptly.

"It's weird that he left so quickly," Malachite said.

"Yeah I know, but we have bigger problems to worry about," Mina said. "Raye's mother called a little bit ago. She wants to talk to all of us tomorrow at the temple."

"Did she say anything of what it's about?"

"No," Mina answered. "How's Molly today?"

"She's doing ok." Malachite slowly walked up to her and before she could even move, he had her in his arms looking at her lovingly. "Do you know I haven't really kissed you today."

"What's stopping you now," she said seductively. She drew an invisible line down his chest.

"I'm the one that's suppose to seduce, not you," he grinned lowering his head.

When their lips were a breath away, he stopped. She looked at him as he was prolonging the moment. A habit he got into with Mina. He would do that so she would get impatient. But this time it didn't work. She quickly locked her lips on his and the dishes were forgotten.

* * * * * * * *

Molly was in bed, resting, when Neflite walked into the room. At first he thought that she was sleeping until she spoke.

"Serena is worried but she keeps her distance." she said as she sat up. "I overheard her talking with Darien. She doesn't want to get in the way as I try to heal."

"She's right. You do need to heal." Neflite walked over to the bed and sat down.

"I wish things were simple again like they were when we first met. I mean first Melvin goes from Internet geek to a sophisticated business man, Serena and the others are the Sailor Scouts, you guys are alive again and I become pregnant then lose the child."

"Life likes to throw curve balls, which always keeps us on our toes."

"Neflite, you're the best." She crawled over the blankets and hugged the auburn haired man. He hugged her back, tightly, not wanting to let her go. She moved away but not far enough for his arms to leave her back. "Can you train me?"

"Train you? Why?" he asked.

"Since I was once Sailor Earth, I think maybe I should try and get my powers back. She said I would return as a scout someday. And I want to be prepared when that day comes."

"Are you sure you're up to the challenge?"

"You said we have to be strong. And I want to personally kick the Negaverse's ass from here to kingdom come."

"Whoa. Who are you and what did you do with my shy wife?" Neflite joked.

"I feel energy flowing through my body."

"What?" Neflite knew that she meant by her powers were starting to return. To him he was amazed that she could feel the energy flow from her old life. "Alright. We'll start tomorrow."

"Good." Molly laid her head on Neflite's shoulder until she fell asleep. When she was asleep, Neflite laid her back down on the bed and left the room to start preparing to teach his wife how to harness her powers. He knew that she needed to have a transformation pen. But, he could tell, she was willing to give everything she had until the day the pen would come to her.

* * * * * * * *

The next morning Mina woke before Malachite. She quietly grabbed her orange silk robe and went downstairs. She walked in the kitchen and there in the sink was a sink full of dishes in cold water. There were also clothes everywhere.

"Damn," she cursed.

"For what?" Malachite came in. He was wearing a white robe.

She turned to the sound of his voice. "I thought you were still asleep? I wanted the dishes done before going to bed," she said.

"Well I guess that didn't happen." Malachite leaned against the entryway into the living room.

"I wonder why. Someone ended up seducing me." Mina took the dishes out of the sink and prepared to do them.

"I recall I wasn't the only one who was doing some seducing. By the look of this kitchen, there were two people involved."

She turned to her lover. "We need to get over to the temple right after breakfast."

Malachite walked over to Mina and whispered in her ear. "How about a shower?"

She smiled. "We would end up being late if we did that because you can't take your hands off me when we're in the shower."

"Your right." His mood was now broken. "Man you sure know how turn off the seduction stage."

"I know." She gently pushed him away from her. "Just take your shower."

* * * * * * * *

Neflite woke up to Molly crying out. He bolted up and grabbed Molly. She was still asleep. She was having a nightmare.

"Molly. Wake up," Neflite said nudging her to wake up. Molly woke with a start and screamed. Neflite quickly wrapped his arms around her in comfort. She turned in Neflite's arms.

"It's alright Molly. It was just a dream," he soothed.

"Please make the pain go away," she cried.

"It will go away. I promise." He gently cuddled her closer. His hand on her back started to glow sending soft soothing energy into her. Instead of using the painkillers that were given to him by the doctor, he used his own powers to take the pain away.

"Listen, Raye's mother wants us to go the temple. Did you want to go?"

"No." She pulled away from her husband. "I would like to stay here."

"Ok." Neflite got up and prepared to go to the temple. He did wish that she would go but he wasn't going to pressure her.

* * * * * * * *

Kristi, Raye's mother, had contacted everyone the day before and asked them to be at the temple. She had something important to tell the scouts. At first she wasn't sure if she should tell them but after getting reacquainted with Raye, she decided it was time to tell the scouts. Besides, there were still more information about the Moon Kingdom that needed to be told.

Raye wasn't the only person Kristi was getting reacquainted with; she was also bonding with her father again. It was going to be a long healing process between Kristi and her father.

As the scouts began to arrive they led themselves to the backyard of the temple where there wouldn't be any prying ears. Kristi was already waiting for them. As usual Serena was the last to arrive.

"Late again I see," Raye mocked.

"Put a sock in it, will you," Serena said.

"Don't you guys start this again," Zoisite said.

Neflite snorted at Zoisite and if it wasn't for Neflite hurting, the smaller man would have made a comeback.

"Are we all here?" Kristi asked. She had her long raven hair in a bun and wore a red outfit exactly like Raye's.

"It looks like," Darien said. "Now Ms. Hino, what is this all about? I know you said that there was more to the Moon Kingdom."

"Yes and I said if you wanted to learn more, you could come to me. But it has been over three months since I told you that you are all related. And it's high time to bring the rest out. Before I start, I have something to say to Neflite. I had hoped that Molly would come."

"She's in too much pain to come," Neflite said.

"What about the pills the doctor prescribed to her?" Serena asked.

"I won't give them to her. I know for a fact that Molly will be hooked on them. She's not eating much, therefore if she was to take the pills she will become addicted to them fast.

"That is very understandable," Kristi said. "From everything you guys have been seeing, I don't think what I'm about to tell is going to be as shocking as the first time I met you."

"It shouldn't be," Trista said.

"Ok. I'll start with families."

"Families?" Jedite asked. "I thought we already went through that?"

"Not all," Kristi answered. "I only told you a part of it. I've mentioned the mothers still alive and that you are related. First of all why I play a role in the history. I was Queen of Mars, Raye's true mother."

Everyone looked at the woman with shock.

"In fact all your mothers play a big role in history. They are all Queens of your planets. Serena, your mother may look different right now but that's because the silver crystal hid her true identity. Your mother is Queen Serenity."

"No way!" Serena jumped. "My mother is Serenity? How can that be? Queen Serenity has sometimes appeared to me in my dreams and once to all of us."

"That's her memories and soul. The reincarnated Queen needs to find her soul. When that is accomplished Queen Serenity will live again."

"I have a question," Mina spoke out, getting over the shock. She was getting used to having bombs dropping on her. "If our mothers are truly queens then what happened to our fathers? Have they been reincarnated?"

"That is a good question and unfortunately, no. Your fathers disappeared long before the Moon Kingdom was destroyed. They had gone into battle for Queen Serenity, a battle to a neighboring star system and they never returned."

"Star system?" Amara commented. "You mean there are other intelligent beings?"

"Precisely. Queen Serenity had a lot of neighbors who disliked her."

"You wouldn't happen to know who ruled the neighboring system?" Trista asked. She had a hunch from a villain who the scouts fought a couple years ago.

"A woman who ruled a Dark Moon. The Dark Moon had traveled into our solar system and got stuck in the Earth's gravitational pole. Though the woman lived on this Moon her kingdom was outside of the solar system."

"What was her name?" Serena asked quickly.

"Queen Nehelenia."

"Nehelenia!" shouted everyone.

"No wonder she tried to take control of our world," Amy said.

"You mean she was here?" Kristi asked.

"Yeah. We fought her with the Amazon Trio and Quartet a couple years ago after the Heart Snatchers."

"She almost won if it weren't for the Amazon Quartet giving up their immortally to help us," Lita said.

"What else do you need to tell us?" Malachite asked.

"There are three million people who are scattered across the world who once lived on the Moon. Queen Serenity had them all reborn in the 20th century."

"Three million. Wow that's a lot of people," Michelle said. "What about the missing mothers? Is there any way we can meet them?"

"I'm working on that," Kristi said. "I should tell you Mina, back on the Moon, you were pregnant with a girl"

"I was pregnant when I was killed?" Mina looked at Malachite who shrugged.

"Yes and someday that child will return."

"This is all interesting and all," Jedite came up. "But what does this have to do with what you wanted to tell us before?"

"Kristi! No!" Luna and Artemis yelled. Both cats came running from the temple. "Don't say anymore."

"Luna! Artemis!" Mina and Serena shouted at once.

"Why not?" Amy asked.

"If you were to know everything about your past right now," Luna answered, "the balance of life will be disturbed."

"I'm not sure I understand you," Amara said.

"I do," Trista said. "If we were to know everything right now instead of waiting for the right time, the future that is supposed to come won't happen. Rini won't be born."

"What?!" Serena squeaked. "Rini not be born! I can't let that happen."

"As long as no more of the past is said, the future will not be at stake. Let the past reveal itself in time," Artemis responded.

"I agree," Neflite said. "But I have some news. Molly wants to start training to become a scout today. She's been feeling energy flow through her body ever since the miscarriage."

"That is a good sign. Rita should be having the same feeling," Kristi replied. "That is another reason I wanted to speak with you. It's time to train Molly and Rita to become scouts, though their power pens will not be revealed them until they're ready."

"That is a good plan," Luna agreed. "We need to get a hold of Rita today and start training today. Girls, it's time to start our payback."

"Right!" yelled everyone.

* * * * * * * *

A lone figure stood in Mina's apartment. He had a disgusted look registering on his face. He went there in hopes of finding the blond woman alone. But what he found was an empty home. To make matters worse, his nose cringed at the smell that roamed the room. The woman he wanted had slept with another man less than twelve hours earlier and it pissed him off. Suddenly the man wasn't alone.

"What do you want?" he hissed.

"It seems the woman is having sex with a man and it isn't you," the visitor taunted.

"Go to hell, Kaorinite. This isn't your concern," Rubeus growled at the woman.

"Touchy, touchy," she mocked. "The bitch may return at any time."

"I will be gone before she gets back. But a message will stay behind." Rubeus grinned evilly.

"What do you plan on leaving?"

"If it was any of your concern, I'd tell you. Now beat it."

"Now that's no way to speak to me," she hissed.

"What, have no one to share your bed? Go find someone then."

Kaorinite came out of the shadows ready to strike at Rubeus until Prince Diamond arrived. "Both of you knock it off before you're caught. Rubeus what the hell are you doing here?"

"You're in for it now," she laughed and vanished.

"I was hoping to find her here alone."

"But what you found was an empty apartment that has the aroma of her sleeping with Malachite, plus clothes scattered everywhere."

That did it. Rubeus lost his temper. He went at the Prince by the throat and raised him in the air. "Don't ever mention that bastard! She will be mine!" Rubeus dropped the prince to the floor allowing the man to gasp for air.

Prince Diamond, who was furious at Rubeus, left it alone for the time being. He teleported back to the Negaverse before he did something that would anger the queen. Let Rubeus deal with her rage.

* * * * * * * *

When Mina and Malachite returned home, Mina immediately knew something was wrong. She went over to the table and found a box. She opened the box to find a bouquet of black roses, a rare flower that didn't exist on Earth, and a card. The card read -Next it will be my clothes scattered in this room-

"AHHHHHHH!!!!!!!" Mina screamed.

"What? What is it Mina?" Malachite asked, going to her aid. Mina turned and cuddled into his chest.

Malachite looked at the roses and note on the table. "That asshole," Malachite fumed through clenched teeth. With a wave of his hand the roses and note were gone. He couldn't believe that Rubeus was there.

* * * * * * * *

Neflite teleported back, just inside the foyer, and saw Molly walk into the room. He took one look at her and knew she wanted to train. He walked over to her and hugged her.

"Neflite, I'm ready," she declared.

"Not yet," he answered. "I told the others you want to be trained and everyone agreed that we'll train you and Rita. Kristi told us that you're powers are starting to return and when you're ready your transformation wand will appear. I can take you out and teach you some techniques that will come in handy. These techniques only can be taught by me."

With a snap of Neflite's fingers, he was no longer wearing casual dress clothes but was dressed in a training outfit, much like the one Molly was wearing, then he teleported the two of them to the backyard of the mansion to begin his personal training.

"Alright Mol. I want you to relax and think of nothing."

Molly closed her eyes to allow herself not to think of anything. It was a bit hard not to think about the current events. When her mind was at ease, Neflite continued. "Take your hands and stretched them out at the sides." She raised her arms out the sides. "For this power to come to you, you need to summon your strength. You are Princess of Earth. You must make the Earth and you as one."

Molly started to concentrate. She focused on the Earth and the Earth alone, forgetting her problems with the Negaverse, forgetting her husband and friends and most importantly forgetting her miscarriage.

As she focused, Neflite could see a pale light start to form in her hands. The light began to brighten and move towards her shoulders. All to soon, her body started to be engulfed in the light but vanished when it came to her abdomen.

Molly collapsed to the ground as Neflite went to her side. She weakly opened her eyes.

"What happened?" she asked quietly. "I feel strange. As if something has been lifted."

"I'm not sure," he answered. Then it hit him. "You healed yourself."

"I what?"

"See a power you harnessed is a power to heal. It's a power that I gave you a long time ago."

Molly sat up and touched her stomach. She no longer felt pain. It was as if the miscarriage never happened. The womb was completely healed as if there was never a fetus. "I healed myself?"

"You sure did," he smiled.

She smiled back. It didn't take too long for the two of them to become immersed in a kiss. Neflite had a feeling of where the kiss was going and so he teleported the two of them to their room where his feeling became a reality. It felt good to make love to his wife.
